Pitti Palace in Florence vs Palazzo Vecchio
If I only have time for 1 which should I visit.
There is a notice on the website of the Pitti Palace that the Imperial and Royal appartments are closed. Does that mean I would not get to see any living spaces? What would not be available?i

Apples and oranges IMO, so there's no way to know which you would enjoy more.
The Pitti is the largest museum complex in Florence with more than twice the exhibition space as the Uffizi. If art is a priority for you, you could spend an entire day at the Pitti. The royal apartments are the only spaces that reflect historical living spaces and comprise a fairly small area of the palace.
Palazzo Vecchio is significantly smaller if you're short on time. The palazzo was once a residence, but the former apartments are now exhibition spaces. I'm more interested in the palazzo's architecture and interior decoration (ceilings, frescoes, etc.) than the objects and art displayed.
