Pitti Palace Hotel Florence

Has anyone stayed at the Pitti Palace Hotel in Florence. It's on the other side of the Arno close to the Pitti Museum. We have reservations there in May and don't know alot about it.

It was very nice when I stayed there on my first trip to Europe when I was in college many years ago; we had private baths, and at that time a lot of hotels (except for the luxury ones) did not provide this. I walked through the lobby when I was in Florence again in '01, and it looked quite nice and updated. I think it's a 3 star, and it certainly has a wonderful location. I always wonder why it isn't mentioned here more often. If I were planning a trip to Florence, I would definitely consider it.

I stayed at the hotel 3 years ago. As previous post:great location, nice hotel. The room was clean and adequate, good breakfast, the breakfast room on the rooftop with excellent views of the city. But as it is on the main street, it could be quite noisy in the night, unless you could have a room facing the back.

I stayed at Relais Uffizi last year, liked it much better-better located(right across Uffizi), but very quite in the night. there are about the same price range.

That's right, they call it the Pitti Party.
