Pisa to Paris

We are wanting to fly from Pisa, Italy to Paris, France. The least expensive way seems to be RyanAir but they only fly into Beauvais Airport. I know that is about 90 minutes out of Paris and requires the shuttle bus to get into Paris. Am I missing an airline that flies in closer to Paris (from Pisa) that would be more convenient?

Thank you !

From Pisa you can fly non stop:

Beauvais on RyanAir
Orly on EasyJet
CDG on AirFrance

From nearby Florence
CDG on Alitalia or AF

Great site Ira, thanks ! Is Orly closer to Paris than Beauvais? The cost on Air France or the other bigger airlines is horribly expensive.

I checked the website and see that Orly is only about 12 miles from Paris. It appears EasyJet has only one flight out at 8:30pm arriving 10:30pm. RyanAir appears to have a flight leaving around 4pm but then there is the 90 minutes shuttle from the airport.

Is there really only one flight per day from Pisa on RyanAir or EasyJet? We were hoping to arrive in Paris in the late afternoon.

I was going to book the reverse trip, Paris to Pisa, but with a few complications like the high cost of an Air France flight, the schedule offered by Easy Jet, and our own time constraints, I am going to book an overnight train journey instead.

Would something like that work for you?

We had initally thought of the train, but it is such a long trip we decided against it. How much is the cost of the train?

The train will be about 265 euros for four of us in our own couchette compartment. About the same as EasyJet.

The benefits to taking the train, for our family are that 1) my husband will be busy with work stuff in town until the afternoon, which rules out getting to some of the better flights in time, 2) we are going from Paris to a rental house and don't want to snake through country roads to find the place in the dark, and 3) we're traveling with our 6-year-old, and as another poster pointed out on a different thread, airports are really pretty much all the same to kids, but we never have the opportunity to travel like this in the US.

Sorry for being so long-winded. You really just wanted the price, didn't you?!

Thanks, I was just curious. Flying is what will work best for us on this trip.

I would prefer to fly EasyJet into Orly, because it is so close to Paris, but as I said, all I see is a late flight and then an 8:30am flight (neither will work for us).

It looks like RyanAir (leaving at 4:30pm) will be what we need to do. Our arrival will be 6-6:30 in Paris (Beauvais) and then take the shuttle into Paris. Will that be a horrible time as far as traffic is concerned?

Next question: Is Terravision the shuttle from Beauvais into Paris? What is the price? I am having trouble sorting it out on the RyanAir website. We don’t travel until June 2009, so it is too early to book the tickets…just curious.

Thanks !

Thanks for the links. It looks like it is 13E pp for the shuttle. It looks like this may be our only option. I have checked for other airports, double checked times on both EasyJet and Ryanair, looked into taking the train and on and on. The train takes too long and is pricey and EasyJet gets into Orly at 10:30pm, so Ryanair looks to be our only option. My concern is taking the shuttle at 6:30pm on a Tuesday. Would traffic be horrible? This may need a new post

'Would traffic be horrible?'

I'm guessing ... but I would think commuter traffic would be heavier leaving Paris than going in.
