Pier House in Kinsale
Just got a call from our B&B in Kinsale, very sorry but had booked a weekend holiday for her family when we were scheduled and forgot. She has arranged for us to stay at the Pier House in Kinsale those nights, which turns out to be the "gourmet weekend" there. (We had no idea!)
Have any of you stayed there? It is in the center of town, looks lovely, and is a bit pricier that what we usually pay, 50E pp. Any other recommendations for Kinsale? If we don't stay here, I need to find a place soon! If I hear it's wonderful, I'll go for the gusto!

In 2003 we stayed at the Kilcaw House just outside of Kinsale--it is a 5 minute ride, 15 minute walk in to town. The Mitchels are very hospitable. Kilcaw, which sits next to a verdant meadow, was recommended to us by the folks who run Heaton's Guest House in Dingle.
Price is close to your budget. Good luck!

You might try Sceilig House. She is a short walk up from town, just a block away from the Spaniard and Man Friday. We had a room with a private entrance and a private patio, fantastic view of the harbour. The downside is that breakfast is served in the room directly above so it was noisy in the morning. The rooms are a little rundown but the view totally makes up for it.

Diane, thanks for the reminder of Sceilig House! We stayed with Mary Hurley in 95, our boys had that wonderful room downstairs and had the nerve to complain because it had a double bed! (That was the first time I had salmon in my scrambled eggs.) We are trying Kilcaw House this time, recommended by Michele Erdvig. We'll post back on how we like our choices for this trip!
