Picking the right B & B's??

First time in Ireland this coming July. Having trouble picking b & b's in Blarney and Bunratty. Have narrowed the b & b's down to the following choices. Looking for B & B's that are in the town or within easy walking distance of the sights. Anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with these choices? Any other suggestions? Thank you!

1. Blarney
The White House, Blarney Vale House or Killarney House?

2. Bunratty
Tudor Lodge, Ashgrove House or Dunaree?
I stayed at Blarney Vale House and it was right next door to the White HOuse. It was very nice and the hostess could not have been nicer. I had a huge room upstairs with three beds and breakfast was good. I found it from Michelle Erdvig's book at www.irelandyes.com Every place I stayed at from that book were the best.

I like Headley Court in Bunratty. It is just at the end of the High Road ( I think that is it's name The road right along the Castle.

You can't walk to the castle / or durty nellie's, but it is a very short straight drive.
There are other B&B's on that road, but I don't know that I would walk it after dark - very narrow and not much in the way of street lights.

I will gladly second the suggestion to look at Michelle's book. We stayed at 9 of the B&Bs she suggested and they were all wonderful! Her book is awesome! In Bunratty, we stayed at Headley Court, which is in Michelle's book, and it was just as she described. Enjoy!

sregan,

While I can't personally recommend the following Blarney B & Bs, they are listed in the 2001 Alastair Sawday "Special Places" guide, and I can say that I've had very good luck with this guide over the past several years.

-Allcorn's Country Home (www.allcorns.com)
-Maranatha Country House (www.maranathacountryhouse.com)

Best of luck.
