PicCell Wireless in Italy?

Anyone have experience leasing a cell phone from this company? They offer them in multiple countries, but we need one next semester for our daughter in Italy, primarily for safety (although she'll probably use it for more than that). PicCell mails the phone to our home, charges rates that look reasonable, and their brochure was given to us by our daughter's university. Thanks!

Yes, I have used them. No problems, and their tech support is magnificent, if you suspect you have a problem with the phone itself, they test it. I use it when I travel because my mom is elderly, and I need to be reachable 24/7. Haven't checked their student plans, but the company was founded by a guy who'd been a student in Florence and found trying to rent a phone over there (in the 1990's) a major hassle. They provide the adapter, too, so the phone can be charged up.

Best wishes,
BC

Bookchick, thank you very much for your comment. I think we'll go with PicCell, as I've also learned the university has an account with them and it's the easiest way to go. Thanks!

Hi Maureen, my daughter will also be studying in Italy this semester (starting next week, actually). She'll be in Rome with a program with AIFS. I'm going to meet her in March for her spring break. Where will your daughter be? Louisa

Louisa, she'll be in Florence. One of her friends is in Rome, and another in Bologna next semester, also. We may or may not go in May to meet her when she's finished. I hope she can get to Torino for the Olympic experience.
