tom_mn on Aug 4, 14 You had a child in the front seat. I hope you obeyed the Law(s) on children in the front seat.

I was addressing those who implied following speed limits in Europe would be as simple as in the US. Child was in back seat.

Not with the intention to retort, but even after 30+ trips to the US, it is still my pet peeve that speed limit signs in the US are so hard to spot (for me) or easy to overlook (for me) as they lack any signal color.
If you are used to drive in Europe, you will probably identify any sign with a red circle almost subconsciously as you drive. Not saying that you will always process that information properly and take action not to speed.

I am flummoxed that on several points.
1) Does your child know or understand the rules of the roads?
2) Sitting in the back the view on the road is quite limited, how did they see all the signs to give you information?
3) Only the driver should be in command of the vehicle and not the back seat driver.
Sounds oh so dangerous to me. Glad you survived.

The photo would also have a picture of the driver...maybe not very clear but still. Is it you? I was informed of a ticket from a stretch of highway near Tarragona. I've never driven more than 30 km south of BCN! The photo was not me. The owner of the car is ultimately responsible. But since it was a rental, you are as part of your agreement. How many kms over the speed limit? Was it "grave" or "muy grave?"
