Pensions near Spanish Steps in Rome

Any recommendation for a pension or small inexpensive hotel near Spanish Steps, around October? Margaret

Worldinabag, that website is cute, but when you click on the various components, like "foto gallery" "Services" "rates.. the links don't work. nothing happens.

perhaps jabird could find it via google.

We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Suisse near the Spanish Steps. It has about 12 rooms. Breakfast is brought to your room.

Hi Mel

I haven't stayed at the Panda but my neighbours did on the recommendation of their daughter. They had no complaints. Bearing in mind that the Spanish Steps area is ritzy and cheap stays are hard to find. The best you can hope for aroung E100 is clean, basic rooms. By the way another suggestion for Jabird and yourself is this B&B - http://utenti.lycos.it/BedbrekRoma/. Don't know much about it, not even the rate.

Hi - maybe I need a convent instead. I would like it under $100 per night. Is there a convent near the Spanish steps. Thanks to all of you. Margaret

If the idea is to get a cheap room, look at the single, economical rooms offered by Hotel Julia. This hotel is between the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

I'm responding to myself again - sorry. But if you think the Panda is too basic, you'd probably think the same of the convent or the single, economical rooms at Hotel Julia, is my guess.

Thanks, worldinabag. Don't get me wrong, I'm always looking for inexpensive, clean and good location. No frills necessary (except being en suite). I just thought the photos were really poor.

We stayed in a twin room at the Domus Julia, apartment annex to the Hotel Julia. We liked it very much. Large room, two twin beds, very nice large new bathroom. We had breakfast in the hotel's lovely breakfast room.
