Passport Entry Information
I am traveling to Germany in July. My passport expires at the end of September. I read an article today saying that some countries will refuse you entry if your passport expires within 6 months. Does anyone know if this is true in Germany?

Renew it - it's three months, not six, that it has to be valid beyond your entry (because you're allowed to stay three months max. without a Visa), and it's not so much a matter of entering Germany these days as all and any of the countries of the EU that are members of the Schengen agreement.

Well, let me put it this way: That article is absolutely correct. As for Germany, I wouldn't want to chance it, and FRA passport control is pretty darn strict, so my advice to you would be to get it renewed before your trip, to avoid any such potential problems. You can use a commercial passport service and get a new passport in a number of days.
Alternatively, you might want to call up the German Embassy in DC, or the German Consulate nearest you for advice on this matter.
