Paris WiFi in room 7th Arr.-still need help !!
In Paris on business June 7 - 17. Looking for a hotel near Motte Picquet, Ecole Militaire or La Tour Maubourg metro (only)that has WiFi IN the room, for under 190 euro. Wifi in the lobby only is not convenient. June is a pretty busy time, so some hotels are full.
I found:
Hotel La Tourville: but at 220euro, a bit too expensive.
Hotel La Boudonnais: Someone suggested this but it's full on the 14th & 16th!
Hotel de la Motte Picquet: say they have WiFi in the room (even though it doesn't say on the web site). I read that the rooms are smaller than the usual Paris hotels. It's a superior dble room: anyone familiar with this hotel/room?
Hotel La Tour Maubourg: sounds nice: free bfst, WiFi in lobby & deluxe room only (190 to 199 euro). A bit expensive for a place with no lift. Will call anyway
Eiffel Park Orsay: Wifi in bar, lobby & bfst room. Only bfst room is a non-smoking area
Relais Bosquet Tour Eiffel: full on 7th, 9th & 14th.
Hôtel Les Jardins d'Eiffel: sounds OK but looks like WiFi is not in room. Bad reviews on tripadvisor.com
I did a search in this forum for WiFi, & some people mentioned WiFi hotspot searches - but I am not looking for a cafe/lobby hot spot, I need it IN the room.
someone previously posted the site http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/75hinternet.htm , which is great BUT doesn't show all the hotels I'm looking at, & isn't always clear if the WiFi is in the room!
Can someone please HELP !
If you can suggest some other hotels that would be great. I've searched so many sites my right arm is numb!(I'll have to book an accupuncture treatment!)Thanks

One of my favorite hotels, the Duquesne-Eiffel, says it has "telephone with internet access." I assume that means in the room.

If you are on business, is your room expense deductible/reimbursed by your business? Is the 220€ over a stated daily allowance? Just wondering if these questions will help any...
Maybe you want to reserve at le Tourville as a 'just in case' - but check their cancellation policy first.
Also - I assume your work connection is located in the area you've defined, so you'd like to be able to walk to/from the work place and hotel. Would you be accepting of staying in a hotel that meets your needs but perhaps is further along the metro line?

We stayed at Tryp De Saxe and I think they had it. also check Hotel Splendid and the Best Western Alama Derby. There is a large modern Mercure Hotel in the 7th which probably has it. We booked that Hotel on Expedia, as I recall. It was around the corner from UNESCO and extremely quiet.

Look at http://www.hotels-wifi.net/indexeng.html. On this site, I found the Hotel de Varenne, Hotel Malar and Jardins Eiffel, all supposedly with WiFi and all in the 7th. I don't know if it's in the room or just a hot spot.

I know you think Hotel De Tourville is out of your budget, but if you can actually book a room, it's worth every penny. It was not available on my last trip to Paris and not staying there was my biggest regret. It's quiet and the rooms are crispy clean while being beautifully decorated.. The staff is very accommodating and speak perfect English. I've sent many friends there..all of whom loved the place. I'd suggest you ask if they might have something in your budget. When I went to the site, I saw they had rooms for 170 Euro. Good luck.

Well, thanks again but:
No WiFi in the room for: Duquesnes, Tryp de Saxe or Hotel de Londres. Varenne is way off on another metro line. Jardins Eiffel looks OK, but as I already mentioned- has many bad reviews.
I have a reservation at both De la Motte Picquet & Le Tourville.
I'm concerned about Motte Picquet because there are several reviews that the staff is rude, room very small (even for Paris) & it's noisy. Looks nice on the activehotels.com & france-hotel-guide.com sites. You should look at the funny pic on http://www.igougo.com of one of the rooms. There is no bathroom door-just a curtain! Anyone stayed there??
Le Tourville is 220 euro(about $277. USD). You don't think that is a lot for a hotel that isn't 5 star & has no special facilities?
know1: thanks for the info, good to hear that it's at least nice if we do end up there.
I know the Splendid has WiFi, I stayed there in April. Just thought that for the price we could get something a bit nicer.

no, I don't think 220 euro is excessive for a 4* hotel in a major W. European world capital in prime season. I also wonder why your company's limits are so strict, that seems very unreasonable.
I was going to suggest the SPlendid Eiffel which is supposed to be a very nice hotel in that neighborhood (3* I guess) and I know it's only around 150 euro. But then I just saw you think you can do better than the Splendid for 150 euro even though it has what you want at a moderate price.
There aren't very many 4* hotels in the 7th. YOu can try Le Walt, a new 4* (that I think is trying to copy Paramount in NYC from the painting over the bed) in that area, it might have the services you want. I see they want about 270 euro for a room, however, which is why I think you are maybe being unrealistic vis-a-vis wants versus expected price.

According to a Nov '04 review, the bathrooms at the la Motte Picquet are inferior... you can read the reviews here:

Reviews for le Tourville (quite a few more of them):

I'd pay the extra out of my pocket to stay there over la Motte Picquet. Also, le Tourville has A/C, and MP does not (according to several websites).
