Hello. I purchased 5 Paris Visite cards for transportation in 2019 for a trip planned for 2020. Because of Covid restrictions, we rescheduled our trip for June 2022. Our metro pass ses have never been used, and our RATP passes have also not been used. Will they still be useable in 2022? I tried to find an answer but the RATP customer question form is only in French and I only speak a bit of French. I also inquired from the company where the passes were purchased but they did not know the answer. Also, I did search this forum before asking! I would rather know ahead of time if they will still be valid. I do understand the passes are only valid for the stated duration on the ticket, once validated/first used. Thank you in advance!

Here's a site in English where you can ask questions of RATP about your Paris Visite passes. Just scroll down until you see the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the page. Not sure why they would not still be valid since they are not date specific and you have never used them. Good luck!

I did that earlier and it takes you to the site in French with a message that it cannot communicate in English right now. Thanks for your help though! I am just going to assume they are valid and if not, I will buy a carnet when I get there.

Google Translate would likely be adequate for your purpose. Use it on the page where you are to enter your question to see what they want in a question. Then, in notepad or a word processer, compose your question in English. Go to Google Translate in a separate browser window and copy your question into the GT box. Ask for English to French, and a translation will be made. Copy the French version into the contact box on the French site. You may want to include the English version also. When you get an answer, use GT to go from French to English. Be careful not to use colloquialisms in your English question, since GT works best with uncomplicated language.

Why wouldn't you be able to use them? They don't have expiration dates on them. Besides, there isn't any effect from knowing, you can always take them and find out. They don't really take up a lot of luggage space.

I don't know what distinction you are making between "metro passes" and "RATP passes".

From the RATP web site: "For your Paris Visite travel pass to be valid, you must write your first and last name on the travel pass, along with the starting and ending dates of validity. The travel pass is activated the first time you validate it ...."

Buying a carnet of tickets is not the bargain it used to be. It's cheaper now to get the Navigo Easy Pass. You don't need a photo for it and it goes on your phone. You can recharge it and it's the price the carnet used to be, i.e. if you put the carnet on the Easy Pass, it is 2 euros less than purchasing the carnet by itself. However, if you have old T tickets, you can use those until you run out. Most RATP products are good until you actually use them
