Paris to Honfleur - drive or train?
We are wanting to visit Dieppe and perhaps other Canadian WWll sites in June, and thought that Honfleur would be a pretty town to stay in as a base. We are wondering if it would be best to take a train on the day we arrive in Paris (we arrive in early a.m.) to the Normandy region, but don't know the best place to take the train from or which town or city to take the train to, where we would then rent a car and drive to Honfluer. Or should we just rent a car at CDG airport and drive to Honfleur directly? My husband is a little apprehensive about driving in France, especially in Paris. We have four nights for this part of our trip. We don't want to devote our whole time in Normandy to war sites, but also want to explore other villages and points of interest. We then have to return to Paris to meet others for the rest of our stay in France.
We would be most appreciative of any suggestions or guidance in this matter.
Thanks so much!

The trains to Normandy generally leave from the Gare St. Lazare, which means that you will have to get from CDG to that station to take the train. It might be better to rent the car at the airport unless you do not wish to pay the 35 euro or so fee for getting the car at the airport. You can use viaMichelin.com or Google maps to get directions from CDG to Honfleur, and if you feel that the directions take you too close to Paris, take a stab at specifying an intermediate point that keeps you farther north in the Paris area.

Better to rent the car at the CDG airport if you will rent one. Than take the french motorway direction to Le Havre and you pass by Honfleur.
Sure, you can do it by train but not direct from CDG. You have to go first to Paris staion St. lazare as mentionned obove.
In Honfleur is nothing to rent a car, the nearest town is Deauville.
