Paris taxi's

I have always walked or taken public bus or metro, so I have no idea of Taxi costs. We are 3 ladies 76, 64 and 62, and are leaving very early from Rue Richer to Gare du nord, what would be an approximate price for three and just a hand carried tote. Thanks

There are various taxi fare calculation sites. They are all just as variable as all of us will be, but they take into consideration the time of day and the traffic when you are asking.

Frankly, though, it is a very short walk if you are all in good health.

It wouldn't be all that short a walk in the early AM with luggage - depending on where along Rue Richer it would be a little over 1 km. A short stroll on a lovely afternoon, a slog with luggage in the dark in the rain. A taxi will be inexpensive -- and with 3 of you an insignificant amount per person.

yeah, I agree. In fact, it would be 1 km if you were on the near end of rue Richer, say Hotel Aida Opera. Personally, I'd find a hand carried tote more of a nuisance to carry that distance than a small roller bag. Unless it's a very small and lightweight hand-carried tote, say less than 10 lbs. I remember once I went to NYC just for a weekend and just had a smallish duffle bag with me and I found out that was more of a nuisance and got heavy on my shoulders given I was using the subway and walking some, so next time I took my 18 inch roller bag and it was a lot better.

I can't imagine it would be more than 20 euro no matter what, should be less. I think once I spent 15 euro on a taxi just to go a couple km. But very early probably means surcharge rates. It also probably means dark out. Still, should really only be about 10 euro.
