No, the logo on the slates just means that the drink company supplied the slates free of charge. It reminds me of when I was little in the U.S. and all of the little stores had 'open' and 'closed' signs sponsored by Coca-Cola.

The French seem to have that handwriting that is uniquely French. How do they do that?

I'm in one of my "phases" now and added a number of new restaurant slates today.

Kerouac, thanks so much for your post. Just wish we'd be in Paris soon to enjoy so many of these tempting meals! But there will always be Paris in our future plans!

I just realized how old these photos actually are and they are wonderful. I am sure the hot dog priced at 9.50 was memorable.

Am I the only person who has noticed that prices are slowly drifting down due to the economic situation?

In the outer areas of Paris, the "plat du jour" is now often listed at 9.90€ which is at least 2 euros cheaper than most of them used to be. I will confess, though, that the places in the tourist center are still gouging people as they always have, but that's because whole new categories of "BRICS" tourists are in town.
