Paris questions

Hi, Could someone suggest how we get from Charles Du Gaulle airport to Hotel Bellevue du Chariot on Rue Turbigo in Marais (inexpensively).
Also, it is hot in Paris and I am starting to worry about this hotel with no air con and old rooms. My daughter's allergies are a worry as the rooms look kinda old and dusty? Has anyone stayed there this summer?
Thanks so much!

You should probably take a taxi if there are 2 or more of you -- and you haven't been to Paris before (an assumption since you are asking this question). and yes, you may be uncomfortable without AC in the summer, and with daughter's allergies, you probably should have searched out a hotel with AC.

If you're packing light and can handle hauling your luggage up and down stairs, then take the RER and Metro from CDG to your hotel. It will be your cheapest way.

Go to the hotel's Web site, www.hotelbellevue75.com, and click on "Access." You'll see a map of the streets surrounding the hotel. Move your cursor over the circled "M" north of the hotel and it will indicate the name of the metro station, Reaumur Sebastopol. As you'll see, the station is very close to the hotel.

Take the RER B line from CDG to Gare du Nord. Transfer there to Metro line 4 (direction Porte d'Orleans) and take it to Reaumur Sebastopol. Walk to your hotel. Your ticket, good on both the RER and Metro so long as you don't exit the system, will cost E8.00.

Visit www.ratp.fr to download and print a combined Metro/RER map for central Paris.

To amplify what TimS posted: Getting onto the RER at CDG with bags is not so much a problem as is the transfer to the Metro system. If you have a heavy bag, this can be a problem. I've tried it, I love trains, and I'm the ultimate skinflint on trying to ravel cheaply. But when I was trying to navigate the metro system with a heavy bag, I assure you I was having a bad time, and made life tough for the poor commuters I kept banging my bag into.
So, if you are traveling light and can lift your bag over a turnstyle, then the RER/Metro is a good option and very easy to navigate. If not, then the Taxi should be your primary consideration. Best of Luck.

One more thing. You'll have to walk through the tunnels connecting the RER B line with Metro line 4. Look for the "Correspondance" (connections) signs. Directions are clearly marked.

There is another option that is cheaper than taking a taxi all the way but still avoids hauling your luggage up and down stairs. Take the Roissybus to Opera (E8.40). Take a short taxi ride from there to your hotel.

Just want to add that at least in the pictures on the website, the place doesn't look old and dusty.

A new shuttle I found this year is Bee Shuttle -- great if you have several people traveling to the same destination. Web site is www.bee-shuttle.com

Thanks, we're stoked to do the RER and Metro, we are packing light backpacks.
Some of the comments on Trip Advisor made me think that the rooms and hallways may be a little old and dusty.
I've just checked the Paris 5 day forecast and we may be ok with weather in the 20's rather than the mid 30's.
We leave soon and I'd rather focus on packing than looking for a new place to stay. It will probably be GREAT!
Thanks all!!
