Train from CDG airport

A question about the train from CDG. Can you take the train from there directly to the Eiffel tower? And once you are at the Eiffel tower can you then go to other sites like Norte Dame? Thanks alot

Yes, you can access the metro from the same stations in which the RER stops. Here's a handy site to navigate your way around:

http://www.subwaynavigator.com/subway_site/eng/accueil/fset_subway.htm

A decent guide book for Paris will list metro stops for all of the sites.

Thanks for the info, what is the difference between the metro and RER? Which one is better to take?

Bob,

Once you're at the Tower, you can take the batobus. Check it out at Batobus.com.

The RER is a "longer range" system that will take you outside of Paris proper. You will see the RER routes designated by letters on the Metro system map. Inside of Paris, you may choose to take the RER rather than the metro and use the same tickets (there are less stops for the RER than the metro). From the airport or other parts of the system that reach outside of the metro zone, you will need a special RER ticket that looks almost the same as a metro ticket (if you don't READ it), but costs more. (I'm not going to get into an explanation of passes here but you can likely dig up that information by doing a search).
