Paris Organ Festival at Notre Dame Cathedral

Hello,
I will be spending 5-6 days staying in Paris and I was wondering if anyone had been to the organ playing at Notre Dame? It looks like it would be a very enjoyable and beautiful event to attend in one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. It looks like there are a number of performances throughout the spring time. Any tips, advice or review are appreciated!

We attended one such concert. It was perhaps an hour on a Saturday evening, and the acoustics in he church were fabulous. It was a few years ago, and, as I recall, we happened on it and we just stood there and watched but others were seated. No tickets or reservations. I think it was a visiting organist. Well worthwhile.

Thank you. I saw they actually have something like a concert where you have to purchase a ticket and only ticket holders can attend. Looks like a nice event. Thanks again!

I also attended an organ concert that did not require a ticket and thought it wonderful. Enjoy!

I've been to organ recitals at Notre Dame and other churches, also, it's fairly common. St Eustache and St Sulpice have good organs. I haven't been to a paid organ concert, only the free recitals, because I don't really like organ music that much, I"ll be honest. I mean not enough to pay for an entire concert of it, I actually think organ is best during services or as accompaniment.

I've never been to an organ festival but if you love organ, that sounds right up your alley. I know it's at various churches throughout the city, in fact, I don't even see that Notre Dame is one of them, but I guess you saw that somewhere. This is the program I see
