Paris or Venice New Years

Would you choose Paris or Venice for New Year's Eve?

If Venice do you have any suggestions where to stay and eat dinner?

If you were going with a significant other, I would say Venice. If solo, Paris is great too.

I have been to both places, so both are equally lovely places.

This is my third time to Paris and because the rest of the family is coming I wanted to give them a few "tastes" of different areas.

Someone had recommend taking volare air which is a one hour flight to venice.

Another suggestion was to take a TGV train and go to Normandy.

Once again I am trying to cram in a lot in a short amount of time. I always like to try something new so I can decide if I want to revisit and spend more time.
Any suggestions?

Mugsy:

I've spent NYE in Paris but not in Venice, so I can't compare. I did, however, break up a 3 week stay in Paris recently for a weekend in Venice and took volareweb. It was easy and enjoyable, and Venice was great, but be aware that a friend who took the same flight a few weeks before had a four and a half hour delay at Orly. If your trip or your patience is relatively short, you may not want to take this chance.
