Paris neighborhood maps
The RATP used to have links to download neighborhood maps for metro & RER stops. These were long ago de-linked and are no longer available from the site. Does anyone have any of those maps...especially ones from the major site areas such as Louvre-Rivoli, Musee d'Orsay, etc?

Hi K,
We are very happy with our Streetwise Paris map. Available from Amazon.
You can also get good maps to print out at www.viamichelin.com and www.mappy.com

Thanks, for the responses so far...but what I was looking for was not a printout of a map but an actual electronic file in the illustrator format which the RATP maps used to be in. The Quartier maps that "Travelnut" mentions can be printed but not downloaded like they used to be.

The maps that are generated on screen are just that...on-screen pics. I wish they could be downloaded but they can't....they used to be downloadable, but not any more....and I was wondering if anyone might have any of the downloaded maps from a couple of years ago. Thanks....

I don't think you can do that because they really belong to a company, not RATP (probably www.mappy.fr). They aren't giving them away for you to download because they sell such a service. You can only print them, I believe.
Now on www.mappy.fr, you can email them to yourself, but all that does is give you a link to go back to the website to get the same map. They give you an option of paying to download them, though, if you want to.

You can right click and save them as pictures or copy into another file (even word processing). I copy them into a WordPerfect file, then annotate the bus stops with the route numbers.
For my PDA, I use a program called RepliGo to download them.

I have a .pdf file of the full map of the paris metro system, but I need your e-mail address to send you the file. It has zoom capabilities but not every street. I got it in August of 07 from RATP as a download.

Just checked www.ratp.fr for the site. Can't get quartier maps but the original full map is available there.
Good luck.

Go to
http://www.ratp.info/orienter/tous_plans_pdf.php
Select Metro (avec rues) or Paris Bus (avec rues). Once the map comes up as a pdf file, save it to your desktop.
Then, open the map. Change the percentage to 67%. More or less if you like. Using the up/down arrows, find your desired neighborhood.
Once you've centered the desired neighborhood, click on print, then "current view".
I start with where I'm staying in the lower left corner, upper left, etc.

Thanks for all your responses....cdly sent me a few of the old pdf neighborhood maps that one used to be able to download from the RATP site. Does anyone have any more of the old pdf maps...especially from the Champs-Elysees, Montmartre, St. Germain, and Ecole Militaire area?

Since I began this thread, with the assistance of a wide range of Fodorites, I have managed to collect the old RATP maps of neighborhoods surrounding well over 100 different Metro stops. However, I am still looking for many of the Metro areas of Left Bank Saint-Germain, the 16th Arondissement (Jasmin, la Muette, etc), and many other Metro stop areas. These old maps have been replaced by a new interactive map system by RATP, but frankly the old ones have much better detail and are more useful to me as a personal tour guide. If anyone has any of the old RATP pdf-file maps and needs any others I'll be happy to trade if I have the one you are looking for. You can contact me by e-mail.
