Paris Metro Question

Last year in London I had a metro map that had the popular sites on it which was very helpful. It made the metro very easy to navigate to the different places. I think I got it at the Metro station and it was free.

Do they have such a thing for Paris?

We were in Paris in 2005 and at any Metro station there is available a map of Metro, RER and Bus lines which also shows sights. It is Map # 2, "Grand Plan Lignes Et Rues". Very helpful. Enjoy

They have a tiny pocket version that fits into the Carte Orange holder (about the size of a credit card) that is convenient for your wallet but not convenient if you are blind as a bat like me. And also when you ask for the map make sure you ask for #2 or they will give you the tourist map which doesn't show all of the bus routes.

Thanks you two - exactly the info I was looking for.

Definitely carrying my reading glasses in my bag too!

My hotel had a great map for the metro so if you are staying at a hotel, see if they have one. It was abviously for tourists, Galerie Layfayett had an ad in it but it was very easy to read and to carry around.

I carry around a Michelin Blue Guide Book, that along with being a detailed street map, has all of the metro stations on the map, all of the sites and maps at the back of the RER and Metro network. I find that I like having a good map with me, and as a consequence, don't need to pick up a metro system map.
