A specific Paris Metro Question
Next week, I plan to take the RER from CDG to the Saint Michel/Notre Dame stop and transfer there to the metro and get off at Saint Germain des Pres. I will have one piece of luggage with wheels. How far apart are the RER/metro platforms? Are they within the same station and can it be managed with a suitcase? Thank you.

There's some walking involved, but I would defer to someone who has more recent, specific experience with what you are doing. With one manageable suitcase, I would certainly consider your plan practical and I wouldn't hesitate to do it myself.

Okay, this is just what I find on my map. I cannot say how accurate this is...
The RER B runs about a block to the east of the Metro 4 at the St-Michel. At least on the map, it looks like the transfer will be closer at Chatelet or even back at Gare du Nord.
Maybe others can comment on this...

Go to

and plug in your start and finish and see which stops they recommend. My wife and I managed easily with a shoulder bag and a wheeled bag, each, even when some escalaters were not operating.
