Paris Markets

My bible on Paris markets, Paris in a Basket but Meyer and Smith--$20 at Barnes and Noble, lists no markets on any day of the week in the 4th. However if you go just over the Seine to the 5th, and just beyond the Place de Vosges to the 11th you can see some of the best markets Paris has to offer. On Thursday morning both the Maubert market in the 5th (Place Maubert just off Blvd St. Germain) and the Richard Lenoir market in the 11th (Blvd. Richard Lenoir from Place de la Bastille to Rue Saint Sabin) will be in full swing by about 9:00 a.m. or so. And you can catch the daily market on Rue Mouffetard any day it pleases you. Rue Mouffetard from Place de la Contrescarpe to Square Saint Medard, also in the 5th. Other daily markets you might bump into if you're outside the 4th include Rue Montorgeuil in the 2nd, Rue de Seine-Buci on Rue de Buci in the 6th, Rue Cler in the 7th, Rue Lepic in the 18th. The markets are my favorite part of Paris. Enjoy.

Here is the complete listing of the markets of Paris. On the contrary, they are every day of the week (except Monday, maybe) somewhere. I love the Pl. Monge market. There are also "market streets" like Rue Cler and Rue Mouffetard.
http://www.paris-france.org/parisweb/fr/vivre/MARCHES/marches01.HTM
