What would you do with a 22 hour layover in Paris? 5:30 pm- 3:30 pm?

Have you been to Paris before?

I would go in to Paris, have a great dinner, stay in the center of town and enjoy some sights the next morning before you need to return to the airport.

Assuming you have not been to Paris-

Check out Notre-Dame Cathedral

evening cruise on the Seine

walk around Latin Quarter- catch a meal in this restaurant ghetto maybe

All those are near each other

Next morning

Eiffel Tower-early

Louvre/Tuileries Gardens/Place de la Concorde

It depends where I was coming from and going, most likely.

But I probably would go into the city, book a hotel for one night, and have a good dinner someplace. The next day is a little inconvenient in timing as I dont' really want to sightsee one hour before going to the airport myself.

So I suppose that morning, I'd just have a leisurely hour or so in a cafe having a good cafe creme. But I have a favorite neighborhood and cafes I visit a lot in Paris, so that would be cozy for me, to revisit one I like.

I hope PalenQ isn't suggesting you could visit the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Tuileries Gardens etc. in the morning before going to the airport if you have a 3:30 flight, all of them, as you'll have to leave Paris around 11:30 am, at least I would. Now you could visit the Tower, and stay in a hotel over that way, that wouldn't be a bad idea because it opens at 9 am. Except some mornings in Paris are pretty gray and misty/foggy, not clear. It depends on the season to some extent.

Not sure when Eiffel opens but if you want it and can book the earliest time possible-you can also take RER C from Eiffel to Notre-Dame Saint-Michel RER for RER right to airport.

Yes forgot about having to go to airport -was thinking they had until 3:30pm in Paris - yes you need to head out like Christina says -Eiffel can be done first thing when you get there but again if landing at 5:30 you will not be in Paris maybe before 8pm - so you really have little time-less than I thought.

Seine boats run late and at night you float by so many neat landmarks and bridges all gloriously illuminated.

So maybe boat cruise (there are also dinner cruises)- restaurant and to hotel.

Forget individual sights-maybe pop into Notre-Dame and take the RER to the airport from there if going by public transit.

You can, also, visit the Eiffel Tower in the evening which would leave you more time the next morning to see something else.

I would check out a guidebook or pick one up to study and figure out your top priorities for sight seeing. We can suggest logistics if you let us know what you'd really like to see and do.

I would get a cheap room in Paris (under 100 euros) somewhere along the RER B rail line that links the airports with the city. Plenty of time to do stuff.

If you have a direct flight to the United States, you should be at the airport three hours before the flight. If you are connecting through another European city, 90 minutes is sufficient.
