Paris - Latin Quarter - Hotels

Has anyone stayed in the Hotel Clement:
http://www.hotel-clement.com/

or the Hotel St. Paul:
http://www.h-saintpaul.com/

I have read the trip advisor reviews on both and they seem fine - great location, decent rooms, decent price. Which has a better loction? As far as the rooms at Clement - street side or courtyard side?

I have not stayed in either, but both look good and are well located. I think I would prefer the Clement's location to the St. Paul's but it's a minor preference.

Rooms on the courtyard are almost always quieter, but I don't know how busy the streetside is. It looks like it's pretty close to Blvd. St. Germain, which is noisy.

Have you done a search here using the hotel names? You might find some info that way. I think the Clement is in the St Germain area so you might try that too.

I don't think you'd go wrong with either.

Good luck and have a wonderful time in Paris.

Stayed at le Clement in 2005. Great location, close to metro, restaurants, shops, etc. Clean but tiny rooms, 127 euro for a standard double. We had a street side room which was fine, not too noisy as the street is a small one. Don't know the other one.
In June we're staying at the Verneuil.

alaspina,
We stayed at Hotel le Clement our last trip to Paris and would stay there again. I would say mideba is right on the money -- Hotel le Clement is well located, has tiny rooms, and street side rooms will be noisier. There's an Irish bar nearby, and we heard noise from that at 2:00 AM. We stayed in a triple room, but there were only 2 of us, as we wanted a larger room.

Travelnut, thanks for that information. Management responded to that review and said they have cleared the problem. What do you think? I don't know what to do. I was really looking forward to staying there after reading all the great reviews here and on Tripadvisor.

Hi M,

It's a good sign if management responded to a bad review and said that they had fixed the problem.

Reading the management response, I would not assume that the problem has been cleared. It sounds like they are still in some denial. The review written by the guest seems to indicate problems of staff attitude that if true, and I have no reason to think not, would be a turn off for me.

Has anyone else stayed at Hotel Verneuil recently? Any problems with bed bugs or staff attitude? I need to decide if I should cancel my booking there in June. Thanks.

My wife and I stayed at the Clement in December 2006. The location is very good. We stayed on the street side, 3rd floor with a view of St.Sulpice.
The street was fairly quiet and we had the windows open at times.
Clean,friendly,professional with tiny rooms.
