Paris-Italy-Spain trip
Hello I am planning a trip to Europe with my gf and another couple. We are in our mid to late 20's and we have never been to Europe. We are thinking of visiting 3 countries.
So far I have a rough iterinary.
Arrive in Rome on August 14th.
Leave to Barcelona on August 19th.
Leave to Paris on August 25th.
Head back home on August 29th.
This would give us 5 nights/4 days in Rome. 6 nights/5 days in Barcelona and 4 nights/3 days in Paris.
Does this sound doable? I know its a lot of travel but we are trying to see as much as possible but we only have about 2 weeks.
Any advice would be appreciated as to the order of the cities and traveling in Europe.

You will lose time traveling from city to city and my guess is that you will return to Europe some day. Your itinerary is much more reasonable than others. I would move one day from Barcelona to Paris.

I would definitely give more time to Paris and less to Barcelona - since Paris has so much more to see and do.
Also you do need to allow a half day out of sightseeing for your flights from Rome to Barcelona and Barcelona to Paris.
Do allow for the heat in Rome, not pushing to do to much in the middle of the day. Also I would switch Pompeii (great but really hot as hell and with very little shade) for Ostia Antica (closer to rome, less exhausting and great roman ruins).

Take into account that August in normally hot in these cities, and I think you'll appreciate being at the seaside in cutting edge and medieval Barcelona.

The Gracia festival goes on to August 21 this year, one of the major summer events in the city:

And the Sants district festival starts two days later: http://www.timeout.com/barcelona/fes...sants-festival
Tons of things to do and see in Barcelona also: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/

flying is best between those places as it would be an all-day train trip between them - but in case you want to rail it check www.seat61.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com for lots of rail info. Barcelona to Paris could be a nice several hour trip thru rural France - break your journey in say Avignon for a day and see a swell old historic city. There is also a ferry between Italy and Barcelona but it takes nearly 24 hours but if you want a cruise...

Compared to many folks' trip plans on posts yours is downright leisurely. I would take a day out of Barcelona and move it to Paris, which has many more major sights.
