The weather will likely be more pleasant in October, perhaps with flowers and leaves on the trees.

But, you'll have a better selection of accomodations, probably at better rates, in November.

We're going to be in Paris from late October through the first week of November, and we, too, are wondering about the weather at that time. I have two small travel umbrellas that are easy to bring along, but I hope to not need them. I am also wondering about the length of the days and the temperatures at that time of year. I guess the old "layers" trick for clothing will probably be a good idea.

Any place in Europe has nicer weather in October than November, of course. November is one of the rainier months of the year, so the odds that it will never rain during a 10 day trip in November are very slim.

I take October trips to France often, and have never been disappointed with the weather. Of course, take the umbrellas!

My first trip to Paris was in 2002 on Oct 17 for a week. The leaves had just started to turn and the air was cool enough for a light layer under a jacket. It did pour down one day and drizzle at times on other days. Don't let that ruin your thoughts on going though.

It doesn't mean anything for this year, but I was in Paris the first part of November last year..arrived the 9th and left on the 20th. The weather was great for me, because I HATE heat and humidity.

The trees still had most of their leaves although they were starting to fall, but the streets were still pretty. The weather was in the low 60's most of the time. We had sun and cloudy days. It rained one night and the last day I was there the skys were threatening and toward the end of the day and there were some sprinkles. So, that was last year...this year? Who knows, take your umbrella, scarf and gloves. I really loved that time of year. I had been to Paris in September and that was lovely, and also the first part of June. I really liked November.

We too, will be in France in November. I monitored the weather for the same period last year and as crefloors said it was overcast etc but I also hate crowds and accommodation is really considerably cheaper at this time. There are definitely a lot of pluses in travelling at this time of year. The downside? A bit cooler (yay I hate travelling in hot weather), the odd shower or two (a travel umbrella and perhaps a rain poncho will cover that)some attractions will not be open (but there will be plenty that are).Mmm can't think of anything else. I always travel in October/November and infinitely prefer it than travel with the heat and crowds.
