I guess it's too late now to ask since I already booked the airfare - it was too good to pass up - but....has anyone been there in November ? How's the weather, WEATHER.com says it could be cold and wet. Maybe that's why it was so easy to book my First Class air with free miles !!

Paris in November can be cold and wet or absolutely glorious--sunny, crisp, vibrant. If your stay is more than a week you'll probably see both sunny and rainy days.
November is one of our favorite times to be in Paris--the city has a great buzz at that time of year.

Paris in November 2004 was cold and wet---but not that cold, and really not that wet. Chilly and drizzly. The weather was crisper than our home in middle Georgia, and the drizzle gave an impressionist look to the Seine and the tree-lined allees. It was beautiful.

Ditto the above - it probably won't be hot enough to worry about AC, is usually pleasant. Once in late November I was caught in an ice storm, but the several times I have visited Paris in November the weather has been rather nice - a bit of drizzle some days, so bring your brolly, and maybe a sweater or parka for the possible cool evenings or daytime breezes.

We have been at least twice to Paris in November. Love it. In contrast to kswl, our Nov. 2004 trip (Nov 10 to 17) saw mostly good weather (overcast on 11/11 and somewhat chilly but fine for the parade) & little rain. In fact, I don't recall any rain and none of my photos shows any. Maybe New Englanders are more easily satisfied.

I was in Paris in Nov 2000. I was only there for a long weekend, but it rained the entire time and was pretty cold. But, I was inside almost all day at museums anyway, so it didn't really matter that much!

Jersey, Will you be there on November 17th? That is the day for the release of the Beaujolais Noveau. It's fun with free wine and nibbles and music at food shops and wine stores. I have been there the past two years and it can be warm and sunny or bone chilling damp. Haven't had rain, just drizzle. I bring layers and a hat. Paris is beautiful to me in any weather!

We took our first trip to Paris one year in Feb. The weather was not nice - I think we had one sunny day, it even sleeted at one point, BUT we still had a wonderful time. We did all the major indoor sites, even a few walking tours, and enjoyed plenty of wonderful food. Some of the outdoor cafes have heaters and people were still sitting out in the cold weather. We have returned several more times to Paris in warmer months but I am sure you will have a fine time in Nov. Bon voyage!

Late November 2003 - was warm, then cool, cold drizzle during the day, warmed up and cleared up at night.

But Absolutely GREAT time to be in Paris! And you'll be OK with an umbrella, raincoat and "layers"!

Paris tends to be overcast and a bit rainy much of the time in November, and sometimes chilly as well. But if you don't mind that, the city is just as nice as it always is (minus leaves on the trees, which usually are falling off or have fallen off already by that time).

Hi, this is my first post...I too am going to Paris in November (17-29) & I have enjoyed this thread! I have read online that Beaujolais Noveau Day is the 3rd Thursday in November. Anyone know more about this?

I LOVE Paris in November! I, too, will be there in November! This is our second year returning for the Thanksgiving holiday - it's a great time to be in the city, and we just loved it.

Last year it wasn't really cold - I was sort of over-dressed with my heavy coat. February was SUPER cold in comparison. Paris weather is always changeable, but rarely severe in my opinion.

Plus, in November they are just starting to put up the Christmas lights and decorations and I think that seems to create a warm and cheery atmosphere!

Just pack a pair of waterproof shoes or boots, a lined raincoat, and a folding umbrells and you'll be prepared for all eventualities.

Thanksgiving 2004 - we were fine with a sweather and a leather coat (unlined). The weather was mostly sunny with one cold evening (around freezing). I lived in Moscow for years and now in New England so my cold tolerance may be different, but I generally found it a delightful time to visit the city. We walked for hours as usual and rarely been cold.

It's my opinion only, but I delight to be in Paris regardless of the weather.

Paris in November is typically somewhat chilly, with often-overcast skies and drizzling rain intermittently every other day or so. The leaves rapidly fall from the trees during this month, usually early in the month. Apart from the occasional drizzles, the weather is quite nice. Sometimes the sun comes out, making it still nicer (although the temperature may drop in clear weather—but Paris is never extremely cold at any time of year).

In the past you never needed air conditioning in November, but these days it's a slim but real possibility. It need not be a criterion for choosing a hotel because it is still rather unlikely that it would be uncomfortably warm for any significant period of days in November.

Misty: The Beaujolais release will be Thursday the 17th. It is always on the third Thursday in November. Two years ago we just stumbled upon it. We were staying next to the Passage Vivienne (sp) and heard a Dixieland band playing in the passage. The Boujouais flowed!! We then walked around the neighborhood and found many small shops pouring wine and offering food tastings. Some had music. We also stumbled upon a block party with lots of wine and food. We were invited to join in the party. It was a long and memorable evening.

Do what we native Seattleites do year-round...pack a Gore-tex jacket and enjoy! Now that I live in Denver I'm amazed at how people let rain stop them from doing things...if we did that in Seattle, we'd never leave the house!

I was in Paris in October 2003, and it was clear and crisp, but I had packed a fleece jacket, layered it under my Gore-tex and I was fine.
