paris hotels under 150 euro

I'm looking for a characterful hotel ie no chains for a short visit to paris in the fall.Ideally left bank and reasonably quiet.
Any recent recommendations.

By "no chains" I assume you mean "no tasteless architecture."

We always stay at the Derby Eiffel, on a quiet street across from the Ecole Militaire and four minutes from the Métro. It's affiliated with Best Western, but authentic Paris in look and feel. Shoulder-season rates should be in the €150 range.

My favorite "reasonable" hotel is in the 6th, Hotel du Lys, rue Serpente. Check it out at www.hoteldulys.com

I've stayed there several times, most recently Mar, '04. High on charme, low on luxe!

I think Le Regent has rooms for about E150. And hotels often have special rates depending on the time you are going.

We enjoyed Hotel du Danube on Rue Jacob in the 6th. It was a terrific location and a nice hotel. Also do a search here and you will find loads of info on Paris hotels.

We stayed at Hotel Verneuil in the 6th for 145 Euros in May. It has lots of character, though small rooms, in a great, quiet location.

I stayed at the Hotel Verneuil on the left bank -- 145 euros for a small double. The decor is very nice, and the location is excellent. I just booked my in-laws at the Hotel de la Bretonnerie for late September. My husband checked it out a few months ago, and thought it was very nice. It's also in a great area, but it's not the left bank.

Hotel Muguet in rhw 7th. However be aware that the "fall"--Sept to mid-October is a very busy time with fashion shows and the hotels fill up fast.

You could have a superior double at the Danube for 145 E, a standard next door at the newly remodeled Angleterre for 140 E, both on Rue Jacob, or a standard at Verneuil for 145 E ( these are very small ) jsut around the corner from Rue Jacob. excellent location. All have websites.
