PARIS HOTELS BY THE RIVER

Howdy: We are headed to paris in October and would love a recommendation for a hotel down by the river on the Left Bank. In the past, we have been staying at the Hotel Raspail up at the intersection of Blvds. Raspail and Montparnasse but would like to find a place closer to the river. The idea being to be able to just fall out the door at night and see Paris after dark. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Many of the quays are pretty noisy, is that a concern?

Hi Elaine:

Negative. The noise isn't a factor. We stay at the Hotel Welcome in Villefranche-sur-Mer right on the quay and really enjoy the night life. We like it up in Montparnasse and the cafes are great but never get down to the heart of the city after dark. A little commotion is part of the experience. Thanks for the reply.

There's a recent thread on hotels on the Seine, with some suggestions:

Try Les Rives de Notre Dame. It's a small, well-regarded hotel along the quai.

Christian, the manager, is very welcoming. Here are comments from tripadvisor.com:

Sorry about that bad link above, Gameson. If you search on "Seine" you'll find that thread.
