Paris Hotel Saint Severin vs. Claude Bernard?

Anyone have experience with these two hotels? NOTE: My interest is in a triple room. Also, I read somewhere that Hotel Claude Bernard has completed a renovation - any info about this?

Hi Jordan
If you do a search here on either of those two hotels, you should find previous postings, especially on the C. Bernard which is pretty popular here.
good luck

Jordan,
We just arrived home from Paris yesterday and stayed in a triple at the Hotel Saint Severin (I believe it's called the Hotel Europe Saint Severin these days).
Anyway, we were quite pleased. The room was much larger then we expected, not just a double with a third bed wedged in. The room was on the back side of the hotel, so it was very quiet. The bathroom was also a decent size. Also other nice amenities not always awailable in a 2star (elevator, phone in room, airconditioning, TV). All this for 150 euros for 3 people and 1 block from the St. Michel metro station!
Karen,

What room did you stay in? We are staying there in 2 weeks and would appreciate any feedback (from anyone) regarding good room options.

The post was from 2002 - so you might not get a response from Karen.

A couple of years ago I appeared early in the am for check in at Claude Bernard and had to wait till rooms became available. Had nice conversation with the young man in charge and the first room that became available was a triple (not a twin that we booked for). It was nice and big and easily had a convertable sofa to hold more. So I can endorse one triple and the hotel itself.
