Thanks for all the work you've done on this Nikki and your great list LunaBella! Sorry if I complicated things.

We're looking forward to meeting others on the Bike ride Monday night.

I don't think the Easter Monday holiday will really effect if a restaurant is open. Most likely if it's open on a normal Monday, (many aren't) then it'll be open on this Monday.

Thanks again for suggesting a gathering Nikki!

Just called Bistrot du Peintre in Paris -- 730 pm my time, 130 am their time.

Our exchange was as follows;

Me; "Bonsoir, j'appelle du Canda. Est-ce que le restaurant est ouvert le lundi apres Paques, soit le 24 mars?"

Jolly/ cheeky staffer; "Monsieur, je peux vous dire une chose: Le Bistrot du Peintre est ouvert tous les jours, sauf les 25 et 26 decembre -- meme pour les gens du Canada."

I LOVE PARISIANS!

It's on the av. Ledru-Rollin, north fo the r. du Faubourg St Antoine. I think the number is 113.

Nearest metro is Ledru-Rollin -- immortalized in the wartime Hollywood film "The Mask of Demetrios".

I have only received e-mail from Tedgale. SharonG, please send me an e-mail so I can get your contact details in case we need to get in touch after people have left home.

Anybody else? When we have a final count, we will make a reservation.

I'm sorry not to meet those in the other group, but at least it sounds like there will be two gatherings in Paris that night.

Carol,

Monday night is dinner, and Monday night is the bike ride for another group of us. I don't know of anything planned as a group for Sunday night.

Thanks

I would like to meet you for dinner.

I have done the bike ride and I really enjoyed it, but the potential for it to be COLD in March discourges me on that one!

CarolA, please do e-mail me. The plan is to meet Monday, March 24 for dinner. So far it's Tedgale, SharonG, and me. Not sure how many are also bringing travel companions.

If you all still planning on meeting on the 23rd, we might be able to make it also. I don't want to commit to anything because of our plans for the day. My husband and I will be traveling with our 16 year old daughter. If the plans are already complete, have a great time.

I think the consensus is for the 24th. However there seem now to be 2 events on that day: a bike ride and dinner/ maybe just drinks.

Nikki is leading on the latter, which I will attend. We have not/ she has not made a reservation, pending confirmation of numbers.

Looks like we're going someplace in the Marais or Bastille areas. Some enticing suggestions for location are flying about....

If you know you want to attend one or other of the events, you should post here. (I haven't checked back in this thread re whether you are available the 24th or not)

Hi Nikki,

I've been away so just saw your final plan.

Thanks for organizing this!

Since I have my 13-year-old, I'm wondering if the Bike Tour group might be more appropriate - sounds like your group is all adults?

All adults so far for the Monday dinner, but there are no rigid rules about this.

Sorry to miss meeting everyone for the bike ride Monday evening. We went with our grandson, and it was pouring at 6 p.m. when we were to meet. Thankfully, by the time we choose our bikes, the rain stopped, for good, and there were 12 of us that did the bike ride that evening. It was such a highlight!! I hope the others who were planning to go, went on a different and dryer evening!

I've been wondering what happened to the bike ride! We did think of you out in the rain, those of us who met at the nice dry Bistrot du Peintre. Glad it dried up enough for you to enjoy it.
