Paris Dance clubs
We are taking our four high-school teens (blended family) to Paris in February. We are looking for a night out where the teens go to a teen dance club and we go to an adult dance club. We are staying in the Latin Quarter and would prefer something close. Thanks.

There is no quality dance club on the Left Bank, so the only thing you would find in this area would be jazz clubs, bars, but nothing really dancy. The closest real dance club would be brand new L'Amnesia next to Montparnasse station. I think it should cater to teen age and adults alike. Expect Las Vegas tack a la francaise though, but it's the latest addition to the Paris night life. IMHO the best teen discos are in the Pigalle area : La Loco, l'Elysee Montmartre (actually, more of a rock concert hall). But the American division between "teen age clubs" and "adult clubs" does not really apply in Paris. There are good or bad, jazzy or techno-oriented, glitzy or trendy, exclusive or open, clubs.

Vincent knows his stuff. I would second the Locomotive for a good night out, different floors & different music depending on your mood or tastes.

NB that clubbing starts late in Paris, 10 or 11pm : )

Hi Ealing, greetings from an ex Chiswick boy...
Actually, re-reading my previous stuff, I realised I might add some other options:
- For parents who want to stay in the 6th, a good option in the lounge category would be L'ALcazar or its new annex the Wagg (both at 62, rue Mazarine). It's the best of British design (Conran's) and club atmosphere mixed with the best of French down tempo music.
- For teenagers: le Bus Palladium in the 9th, or, more serious stuff, music wise (world class DJs): le Rex on Bd Bonne-Nouvelle in the 2nd
- For a family night out enjoying some cool Parisian night spots: Le Batofar (a barge opposite Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand), La Fabrique in the Bastille area, le Cithea and Le Nouveau Casino on rue Oberkampf in the 11th.

The loco is the best Paris dance club I've ever been.
You should consider Le Queen on the Champs Elysées too. (www.queen.fr)
