nightime/nightlife in paris...

We are leaving for our first time in Paris. Any recommendations for nightlife in Paris?
We are in our mid-thirties, would love one night of fun dancing, one night at a jazz bar, the ballet??? Any good clubs, that are not too over the top (not too loud and young)?

Thanks

If you like Vegas style shows, you might want to know that they were actually invented in Paris!

The Lido, is one of the best, I saw it in summer 2004! the production is amazing, and it beats everything I've ever seen in Vegas.

It's a little expensive though!

Of course. The one and only place to go in Paris-Buddha Bar-rue Boissy d'Anglas-just behind the Hotel Crillon on a tiny rue-you can practically touch the American Embassy on the other side -scene of the hippest and loveliest looking people from around the world (and I mean that literally!) Asian-fusion cuisine restaurant downstairs-not bad at all(sometimes people get up from their table just to dance to the world music beat). Upstairs, bar/gathering place for models, etc. During the day, Bbar hold fashion shows and other artistic "events," while the French businessmen come to lunch. BBar puts out its own CDs, and the giant golden Buddha reigns supreme overall. Check it out:

www.buddha-bar.com/home.htm (hit the toolbar on the left)

I understand there will soon be a BuddhaBar NYC, and one in Milano as well- una vera figata! (translation from italian: a very cool, or positive situation).

there was a thread with "stormygirl" in the title that was about Paris nightlife. I'm sure if you did a search of it you'd find it easily. I copied it to print out for my June trip.
Have a great time!
