paris -- church concerts ?

Going to Paris in late-June.
Would like to take in a concert at a church such as S. Sulpice or S. Chapelle.
Any advice?
Or how to find schedules and prices and need for reservations?
Thanks.

I think someone else may answer your question better. But I know at churches such as St. Germain they have flyers and postings that give times for concerts.

The concerts at Ste. Chappelle are wonderful. You can buy tickets at the tourist office or online. Online you reserve and then pay when you show up for the concert--in cash. There is a free organ concert at Ste. Eustache on Saturday or Sunday at 5PM.

We went to a 9pm concert at Ste. Chappelle but they had one I think aorund 7pm as well. The cost was 25 euro each but that was a year and a half ago. We went to the chapel the day before to get tickets but it was already closed. We found out about the time and the program by flyers that are posted on the fence and gate around the chapel itself. We had no trouble bying tickets in the early afternoon for a performance that same night. By the way - It was worth it! We'll be doing it again this December!

Ste. Chappelle is a wonderful place to attend a concert. Go to www.ampconcerts.com for their schedule. You will also see schedules for concerts at other venues.

At. St. Sulpice there is a 4 p.m. concert on June 20, as well as the regular 30-minute organ recitals at the end of the Sunday morning Mass.

See their web site at http://www.publifilm.com/sulpice/

For concerts at churches that aren't listed on any of the websites that have already been mentioned, pick up a copy of Pariscope at any newsstand when you arrive in Paris. It's a weekly magazine with listings of all the cultural events (concerts, movies, theatre, etc.) going on in Paris that week. If I remember correctly, it only costs somewhere around €0.40.

I would just pick up an entertainment guide (eg, Pariscope) when you get there so you can see all the programs, performers and venues for when you want to go and make the best choice. You don't need to reserve ahead for these kind of concerts.

The best site for planning ahead is the Paris Tourist Office "events" section as they list most of them, not just those of a particular group (like ampconcerts, which is just their own booking firm). www.paris-touristoffice.com

We heard Vivaldi's Four Seasons at St. Chapelle one lovely evening in April. The sun was setting as the concert began, and the stained glass windows were spectacular.
We bought our tickets at the department store "Printemps"...which was near our hotel...they have schedules and tickets for St Chapelle and other events.

I can vouch for the organ concert at St. Eustache; that was magnificent- I believe they hold organ concerts most every Sunday evening, with tickets sold at the door. St. Euch. is probably my favorite cathedral in Paris-one can really feel the augustness of the place. And Ste. Chapelle is also an exquisite place to hear a concert-particularly when, as noted, the setting sun highlights the stained glass windows.
