Still working on getting to St. Lazare station from the airport. From looking at the RER map, it looks like I do B3 (the Blue one) to Gare Du Nord. From there is there another RER to St. Lazare? The more I look at this thing, the more confused I get. BTW is it too far for a Taxi from CDG to St. Lazare? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you take RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord. You would then switch to RER E at Gare du Nord and it's only a few minutes ride to St. Lazare. The reason it may look confusing is RER E doesn't appear on older system maps. A taxi from CDG to St. Lazare would probably run 40-45 Euros.

Using the RER involves a lot of going up and down, and the station at Gare du Nord is a fair hike from the train depot.

I'd use the #26 bus that takes you door-to-door.

How much luggage will you have and how "fit" are you. Going up and down stairs in the RER is not fun. It is, of course, not "too far" for a taxi. It will be, as said, about 45E.

Actually, asking if it is "too far" makes me think this is a first trip to Paris. If so, you might be well served to simplify your entry to Paris and take a taxi to the Gare. Where are you going from there?

Just to clarify what I said above: I would take RER B from CDG to Gare du Nord, then the #26 bus to Gare St-Lazare. To locate the bus stop, print out an area map from this page:

Pull down the second menu, select <i>Gare du Nord</i>, click OK. As you can see, the #26 bus stops right outside the southeast door of the terminal.

If you <u>do</u> decide to use RER E to get to the other station, you will need to go to the Magenta stop, east of Gare du Nord. Be sure you get on the train Direction Haussmann St-Lazare. The only advantage I see to this option is that it's 1.40&euro; cheaper, because your RER fare is good all the way, but a bus ticket is extra.

A third choice would be to ride RER B to Ch&acirc;telet, then M&eacute;tro Ligne 14 to Gare St-Lazare. This route has the advantage of requiring the minimum of pathfinding, because you wouldn't have to go outside the train station as in the case of RER E or bus #26. The connections at Ch&acirc;telet are well-marked (but can require walking for 5 minutes).
