Paris Apartments

Can anyone recommend a nice 2 bedroom apartment to rent for a week in June 2011? I have been trying to use the paris dream apartment website, but am finding it quite difficult to use.
Any useful tips would be great.

thanks,

Qwovadis - what do you mean "Careful many scammers pay any large sums with CC/paypal"

I thought this would be the safest way to pay and less fees

I'd try either VRBO or VIP. Here's a link to VIP's two/three bedroom units: http://www.vacationinparis.com/infop/two_br.htm

We're using VIP in March for a one bedroom for our 2nd trip.

Homeaway and VBRO are the same company. I just prefer the homeaway.com website, as I find it easier to navigate and read. Happy Travels!

I really like VIP because you pay in dollars, and get the key before you leave home along with many instructions. No waiting around for someone to let you in.NO security deposit , you pay a very small insurance fee against breakage, and your key deposit is quickly refunded.

We are using Guest Apartment Service of Paris and are very please with them so far. They we ready for us upon our arrival to their office and provided a helpful list of local shops for pharmacy, cleaning, groceries, pastries, etc. Also, they were able to get us a most-needed reservation for Christmas Eve Dinner on short notice. The apartment was just as described and no surprises.

We would definitely use them again on our next Paris visit.

This topic is discussed repeatedly. Here's a very comprehensive thread: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ent-thread.cfm

< careful many scammers pay any large sums with CC/Paypal >

qwovadis echews punctuation. This is an example of why it helps. He means do pay with a credit card or via Paypal. Especially when you deal directly with owners, you're often expected to prepay all or a large part of the apartmental rental ahead of time -- by depositing directly into the owner's bank account. You may arrive to find your apartment doesn't exist or it's already occupied or it doesn't look like the photos. You have some recourse through your credit card company or, I gather, through Paypal.

I agree with Avalon re: VIP. We had a completely trouble-free experience with them, and will gladly use them again. And as A. said, it is nice to be able to pay in dollars.

Good luck with your search.

You might be more comfortable dealing with an agency that communicates with you and is not just a booking site.

We've been happy with www.likelivingthere.com, which is USA based.

Have no direct experience with alleged scams as above, but you shouldn't have any problem with an established agency.

In all cases, though, pay attention to details, such as additional fees for cleaning, credit card use etc. Also, be particular about the details of the apartment, such as sleeping quarters etc., as well as the location.

Extra research and questioning can pay dividends.
