Paris apartment location-help?

We are thinking of renting this apartment in the 7th of Paris. Can anyone comment on the location?

http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p851394

The exact address is:

rue de Villars, 75007, Paris

It looks very close to the Eiffel Tower which concerns me.

Thank you!

I know this area. It is not close enough to the Eiffel Tower to be a bother. I'd say it's closer to Montparnasse, actually (it's on a bus line - the 84 - which will take you there in a couple of minutes). Enjoy your trip

We have rented in the 7th several times. The location of this apartment is actually very close to Les Invalides. In these neighborhoods you can see the Eiffel Tower from many locations so it appears closer than it really is. That being said, being close to the ET is not a bad thing. What concerns you?

I was just worried that too many people would be in the area and more touristy shops and restaurants rather than authentic neighborhood. We have never been there.

The most "touristy" thing near the Eiffel Tower is Rue Cler. This apartment isn't all that close to the ET. Don't worry about the ET crowds there. Most of the 7th is relatively quiet.

I think you'll enjoy the location. Also, very close by is Le Boulanger des Invalides Jocteur on 14 Avenue Villars. It's a neighborhood boulanger with pastries, salads, sandwices, and, of course, great bread. We had lunch there after visiting Napoleon's tomb. You are also close to the Rodin Museum. See http://www.lebestofparis.com/shhhh/l...alides-jocteur

We stayed a little closer to the Eiffel Tower, and the proximity to the Eiffel Tower wasn't a problem at all. We loved the neighborhood of our apartment and the food shopping on Rue de Grenelle by Rue du Gros Caillou including a superb boulanger/patisserie, Les Gourmandises d'Eiffel, at 187 Rue de Grenelle, which was half a block from our apartment.

You likely have already found this out but I couldn't find it on the website. Is there an elevator to the apartment? It looks like it's on the top floor.

This is a quiet, upscale residential area, with little commercial or tourist activity, so don't expect cafes at your doorstep. But it's not too far to liveliness if you walk down Rue de Babylone or to Rue Cler in the other direction. It's about six blocks to Le Bon Marche, for example.

Second the props for the boulanger - excellent if expensive, which is in keeping with the neighborhood.

The street view shows it to be a tall building. Climbing all those stairs after a day walking in Parist, if there is no elevator, would be a deal breaker for me.

Other than that, the flat and its location look excellent to me.

Thanks for the help - especially the elevator issue, idyllic! I have looked at so many apts that I missed that one. I will take a look.

If you can recommend any other 3 bedrooms apts for six, I would love to take a look. Most of the options are more expensive than we can afford. Trying to keep in the $400 per night range.
