Paris - Amsterdam Frustration
Hi Everyone.
I'm very frustrated! I'm trying to book 3 tickets from Paris to Amsterdam and I can't get any "Smiley" tickets (8:40 departure and 16:45 return) but I was able to do so a few minutes ago but my computer crashed, when I went back to try again I couldn't get any.
Do any of you know if they release tickets everyday just like they do on the airlines? Or am I destined to buy more expensive tickrts. BTW we want to go June 5-6 Paris-Amsterdam return.
Thanks

Try booking Smilys fare Paris-Brussels if Amsterdam ones are gone by the time you are able to buy
and then take the IC train to Amsterdam - could be the cheapest if not SMILYS
For one-way you really want the 25 euro fare and not the 40 or so SMILYS unless of course you are going round trip
Otherwise you can take TGV Paris to Lille- Lille-Brussels - IC trains to Amsterdamas an alternate route

Hi YT,
I tried this morning at www.voyages-sncf.com.
The SMILYS are gone.
This happened to me a few weeks ago trying to book 19E tickets from www.bahn.de.
At 00:02 the day of availability, I signed on.
The screen showed "available".
By the time I had entered my personal data, they were sold out.
C'est fromage.

HI PQ,
sncf and Thalys will give you the same results if you take the Thalys.
It is much cheaper to take the route via Lille Flandres because you can get the 20E PREMS fare.
If you take the Thalys route, via Brussels, it costs 60E more and takes about the same time, or a little more.
