Does anyone know where Walter is...maybe posting under a different name?

I'm surprised that after all the years he posted here that his log in is no longer active.

You could try his old email address although I once sent him an email and he never responded.

I was surprised to see this thread as well. Paradise Lost was the reason I joined Fodors so many years ago. He found me on Frommers and said come on over to Fodors.

I did a search and found on a thread that he got banned? Someone started to post on his behalf I think so maybe if you find that poster they can help you located Walter. Do a seach for Paradise Lost and look at the top thread and you will see what I mean.

I didn't see anything about him being banned but it looks like he's posting as Rostra.

Walter,if he is a "he," was so helpful over the years on this board. So sad to see another one of the Fodors veterans not participating any longer.

Adrienne, I will take you advice and try the email address you posted.

Rostra posted just a few weeks (months?) ago. Unlike most of us, he only posts when he something to say -- and by that I do not mean to compare him to Mr Ed. It looks like Paradise Lost was banned by some auto-spam detector or other glitch, and I hope we can look forward to many more illuminating posts from Rostra.

~Nov 2012 I posted in the 'Italy' forum a petition/News article to keep Rome's Argentina Cat Santuary open from a library computer.

I checked back ~45mins later and was banned after ~14yrs for a computer glitch/virus/whatever!

Later I checked my post in a google search and it had reposted itself over 120 times in every or almost every European Country Forum as 'responses' even in threads that had been dead for ~2 months.

I had no luck with emails to get reinstated.

It's good to see you back. Too bad that the editors did not respond/reinstate you under your old ID.

Did you have any response from the editors? I'm sure they can reinstate your old name and they seem to be more aware of their spam filter problems these days. It's difficult to search posts since your name is no longer there to click on.
