who is peggymiao and why is her message (ad) popping up?

Almost every new message I checked today has been this peggymiao ad. Is there some way to stop this nonsense?

I reported it - as well as another similar one - but I don't think they've been removed yet.

That's a spammer. They frequently spew their spam onto forums like this one in the middle of the night, when moderators aren't around to delete their posts. An awful lot of them seem to have come through last night.

If you see a spam post like that, you can click the little "exclamation point" icon and send an email to the Fodors moderators, who will then come through and remove the offending posts and ban the perpetrator. They seem to be a little slow in doing that today.

Yes seems to be on most all the forums.

What to do?... Just click the yellow triangle with the exclamation point in it that you see at the top right hand corner of your reply, to notify the editors of advertising.

I clicked the triangle some time ago when I found "cousin it" on my thread.

Annoying.

Click on the person's name, and flag the profile, not the topic.

That's a good tip. I always thought it wasn't possible to flag a profile, but now I see that it is -- you just have to look a little harder.

After clicking the person's name, look all the way on the left, under the big Fodor's briefcase. The triangle-with-exclamation-point button is grayscale, not yellow, so it's a little harder to find.

She's been deleted (and apparently all her MANY posts)

I think a lot of people clicked the triangles (profile and topics) but when a spammer hits over night sometimes it takes a while for them to get cleaned up.

I think Fodors staffers do a good job of flushing these posters, much better than the staffers on some other forums I visit. Thank you Fodors.
