Pantheon - Is Exterior Work Scheduled This Year?

We're planning to stay at the Albergo Del Senato in October and have reserved a Pantheon-view room (285 euros). Yesterday I e-mailed the Del Senato's manager to ask about the schedule for restoration at the Pantheon and its effect on the rooms with views. Today I received a reply in which the manager said work is currently underway, but solely in the interior, and that exterior work is not planned for "a year or two." She provided me with a phone number for the Pantheon to verify this information (06/68300230). I'd be interested in what others have learned about the schedule for restoration. Recent returnees especially, what's happening there these days and did you learn anything about when the Pantheon is scheduled to be covered with scaffolding? Thanks.

I inquired of Enjoy Rome tours about the Pantheon being "closed" during our tour in early September. They contacted the Rome Tourist office who said it would still be open. But I didn't inquire about the scaffolding -- sorry!

We saw the Pantheon a couple of weeks ago. The interior is being worked on (and it looks like it has just begun). There is scaffolding in the inside and as a result mass has been cancelled. You can still go inside and see it wil they are working on it. I can't imagine them getting to the exterior anytime soon but I'm not an expert on restoration schedules!

I think I remember the del Senato site having some webcam set up outside, but i do not remember if it shows the whole piazza.

I would be so sad to go and not be able to gaze upon the Pantheon!
It is my favorite .

I'm interested in this, too, because we'll be staying there in 2 weeks, so I looked on the Del Senato's website.

They have a live webcam that you can control and aim right at the front of the Pantheon-- No scaffolding at this point!

Here is the link to the webcam:

I second that the Pantheon only has scaffolding on the interior right now. I left at the beginning of August.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, all, This is encouraging. I will check the webcam from time to time. Now if USAir and Alitalia will just continue flying at least through October, then we should have a pretty good trip!
