palermo!!

hi folks!! need some help here... looking for a reasonable hotel/pensiones/b&b in palermo... pref to be in the northern area (liberti?) i just posted, but think my posting got lost in the shuffle. any info welcome!

gac- you really are fantastic. i have been searching for weeks now... i, too, thought hotel joli was part of the jolly chain!!! silly me.... BUT NOW i am delighted my booking is done--and i'm so pleased with the choice.<BR>mille grazie GAC. <BR>r

just ask the tourist office in the train station when you arrive - they'll direct you, probably to Via Roma. Cheap, clean lodging abounds.

And totally off the point, once you're there, don't miss the Puppetry Museum, it's really quite worth it if you have any interest or any children ( loved it and I'm mumble years old!). They have one of the most extensive collections of marionettes (from small to gigantic) in the world.

From the Hotel Joli, you can very easily walk to both the Port and the stop of the Airporter Bus in Piazza Castelnuovo. For the train station, you can take a bus running down Via Roma, or walk in about 15-20 minutes.
