Palaces Closed? - Please translate
Did I read correctly on www.patrimonionacional that Aranjuez is closed until further notice and the Palace in Madrid is closed from May 4 - 26?

no, not exactly. For Aranjuez, I believe it says that for restoration works, the main floor of the Palacio Real de Aranjuez is closed to the public until further notice. The Museo de la Vida situated in said Palace remains open to the public. I don't know these places and whether that makes sense.
The Palace in Madrid is completely closed for public visits from 4-26 may, though.

Myer,
Aranjuez's Royal Palace:
Because of the restoration work, the ground floor is closed to public visits until further notice. The Museum of Life, which is located within in the Palace, remains open to the public.
Madrid's Royal Palace:
Starting Feb. 5, '04, because of the restoration work, several palace rooms will be closed.
Madrid's Royal Palace:
From May 4-26 the entire palace will be closed to public visits.

Now the add-on question.
Does anybody know why the Palace in Madrid is closed? Does it appear to be a restoration thing or a scheduling thing (wedding cleanup, etc)?
Our plans call for us to arrive in Madrid on May 28th.
Will the 26th run into June or did they know we were coming and are re-opening it in time?
