Padova Informations

I plan to take a day trip to Padova from Verona..How far is the Centro Historico and the major sights from the train station?I always wanted to go there but somehow I always missed visiting that beautiful city.

I went to Padova from Venice last May, specifically to go to the Scrovegni Chapel to see the Giotto frescoes. I later walked around the city. It was a short cab ride from the Padova train station to the center.

No need for a cab. The walk from the train station to the center is 15 minutes at most.

There are also electric trams going from the stazzione down to the centro area.

The Scrovegni Chapel is quite close to the train station. Waiting for a tram will probably take longer than the five-minute walk. The Basilica of St Anthony is at the other end of town, perhaps 20 minutes from the train station, so you might appreciate a tram or taxi for that. On my three visits, I've just walked.
