This is how it's done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmewB7JiyO4

But everything will crease, no avoiding that, so it's depends what type of clothes crease the least.

Best advice is to just take less!

hahaha! Easier said than done!

I used the packing cubes and used only 1 large and 3 medium cubes for all my clothing. I am sure I over-packed nonetheless.
My DH is taking bulkier clothing so he's having a more difficult time with it.

re: reservation site -- I'm not sure I saw that information, but thank you for the heads up!

@ janisj -- how do you manage to pack everything into a carry-on?

We have a few extra space bags that we didn't use, will definitely bring it with me, great idea!

I also purchased one of the Eagle Creek folders for my DH's shirts. The cubes are great, so I think the folder will work out really well for him.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your input on every question I've posed as I prepare for my trip.

So excited! We leave Thursday!

I just tried the compression bags when packing for my last trip and they were a waste of time and space. I could not get all the air out of 2 of the bags and they wrinkled everything!
Yuck.
I can pack everything for 2 weeks in a 21" carry-on and a small overnight bag that I can stuff my purse into go thru security.
I don't see the point in small bags to organise your stuff? You then have to open every bag instead of just pulling what you want from your case.
Lay out everything for your trip on the bed - and put half away!!! Works every time

I like the compression bags for dirty laundry...keeps it away from the clean clothes and they don't take up much space...and who cares if they wrinkle!

Oh my.....it's confirmed. We've over packed!

Do I just take out all the 'summery' stuff? I keep thinking (hoping) it'll be hot in Nice, but now I need to rethink the entire wardrobe.

Excuse me, but I very much do see the point of putting things into packing cubes to keep them organized even in small spaces.

Look, if you don't think these are worth it then nobody is making you use them whether you see the point of not.

I am using the cubes, I think they are fabulous! In fact, yesterday I went out and purchased the Eagle Creek folder for my DH's shirts and it worked out really well.

Plus, the cubes makes it so easy to juggle the bundles between each of our bags, it's very efficient and orderly which is great.

Just got back -- I will never travel WITHOUT using my packing cubes ever again!
The folder we used for my DH's shirts was awesome, no wrinkles, just perfect.
And the cubes were so efficient, made all my packing/unpacking so easy to do.
Of course, I did wind up overpacking -- will pack 1/2 the amount next time.
Thank you for all your advice!
