oyster card/travel card & Gatwick

know this has probly been asked already...But Can you buy your Oyster card/travel card at Gatwick or do you need to wait until you reach Victoria Station?

Oyster cards aren't sold in train stations. You will need to buy it after you are in London.

And don't assume that going to Victoria (presumably on the Gatwick Express) is the best way to get to London.

If you know the address of your hotel you can use the journeyplanner on www.tfl.gov.uk to see if going via Victoria is the best way - and even if it is avoid the Gatwick Express unless you are travelling in rush hours and/or carrying everything including the kitchen sink
