Overnight stop between Rome and Sperlonga

Would be grateful for advice from all the experts who've unknowingly helped me plan my italian trip thus far.

Need to overnight after a 9pm arrival into Da Vinci airport in June before heading to Sperlonga following day. 2 adults and 4 children. We know we can go the airport hotel route but are wondering is there some nice town which would be nice to wake up in on or first day in Italy. Budget would be about 400 euros.

Thank you for any suggestions

I would check hotels in the town of Fiumicino. That said, I 've never done this so have no actual recommendations for you. How are you getting to Sperlonga the next day? I thought it was quite close to the airport.

It is only 2 hours--why not drive there?

According to viamichelin, it's a 2 hour drive. I know of no 'nice town' along the way...

San Felice di Circeo is a pretty town but it is very close to Sperlonga. I would stay at the airport if you don't think you can drive directly to Sperlonga.
