Overnight in Rome

We will be arriving 8.30pm at airport for an over night stop before train to Arezzo.
Thinking it would be best to make way to hotel near station for night so we are near to station for our morning train. 4 people travelling.

1 Would we be best to catch Taxi or Shuttle to hotel, (Novices so do not want to face trains at that time of night)?

2 Anybody recommend an hotel close to station ?

Thanks

Assuming you're arriving at Fiumicino, I would just take the Leonardo Express. It runs every 20 minutes or so, is cheaper than a taxi or shuttle, takes you right to Termini. There's no worries about taking it at night, and it's right there at the airport.

Can't help with a hotel - never stayed near the station.

Frankly for 4 people with luggage at night (not sure when you plane will land and if you have to go through Immigration, customs et al) I would just grab a cab directly to your hotel - not hassle with trains and luggage, then finding your way through the streets - or via cab.

Can't help with a hotel since I've never stayed near the station - but if you give a budget I'm sure peopole can make specific recos.

tarlex,
I would think for four that a car and driver would be the easiest and cheaper than the train. Try http://www.shuttlelimousinerome.com/
