Overnight at Munich Rail Station

Could someone help me out with an inexpensive but nice clean room near the Munich train station? Thank You

I very recently stayed at the Hotel Seibel (Theresienhöhe 9, Schwanthalerhöhe, München, 80339) which cost me EUR 49 the first night and EUR 59 the second night. For me it was about a 10 minute walk to the station, although I didn't have much luggage at all.

I was very happy with the hotel, and am more than happy to recommend it. Clean, comfortable, quiet and no problems whatsoever. You'll find plenty of reviews on the various hotel review websites.

If you're trying to book for the next week though then you can forget about it as Oktoberfest is currently happening, and the hotel is directly opposite the Oktoberfest grounds!

Which train station? The main train station, the Hauptbahnhof? or the one at the airport?

Near the central station (Haupbahnhof) Try the hotel Metropol:

The cheapest and the safest place is the Wombat Hostel, very clean and very efficient, although you do share the room with others, nice big locker:

There's also a "Euro Hostel" next to the Wombat, but I've never stayed there.

Otherwise, shop carefully. There are any number of really bad places around the main train station.

You could check with the tourist office at the station.

Arthotel was surprisingly good and close- definitely a big step up from hostel. I agree with the "really bad places" comment above.

Hotelissimo Haberstock is only a few steps away from the main train station. 3* Delicious buffet breakfast plus your choice of omelet with cheese and ham or any other style eggs. About 74€ for a single. I've been staying there since 1983. Of course, it has been renovated a few times since then!
