Hello Koshka, I think that your thread got pushed down the line so to speak as more threads were added. That is a shame.
Koshka, I saw your thread and although I am familar with Milan and also have friends in Milan I am not familar with this hotel so I went onto www.google.com and typed in its name.
May I suggest that you do this also. In the searchbox of Google type in Hotel Stazione, Milan, Italy. There are several websites. With doing this I think you can make a good decision if this is a hotel that would meet your needs. I do know that there are strange and sometimes scary people at the Centrale Train Station. But the station is also used by many business people etc.
My best wishes to you.

I stay quite often in hotels around the train station & have never had any problem, in fact I've always felt quite safe bcoz there's so many people around. Check out the various reservation services bcoz prices for the same hotel varie from service to service. Also there are reviews for hotels in Milan on the Tripadvisor site.

Thank you for the replies.
Many of the hotel review sites seem to lack a review of this specific hotel.
We're really only using it to crash after daytrips to Torino and Lake Como, so it doesn't need to be anything much more than a clean bed.
And I live and work in San Francisco, so characters don't bother me.

We have stayed several times at the Hotel Virgilio, about 2 blocks from the airport bus stop at the Central Station. It is no frills, but adequate, clean and convenient. You can book it through venere.com or here is the link:
http://it.venere.com/hotel_milano/st..._virgilio.html
or website: www.virgiliohotel.it
Cost is E93 with bath, E70 without. We would not recommend it without a private bath as the hall bath was a mess.
